You Posted in the Wrong Time Zone

This is a real pet peeve of mine. Hopefully this year y'all can figure it out.

Hey my friend, I received a correspondence from you today
It was lovely to hear from you, but I noticed one small mistake
you see, you mentioned a time zone that no one is currently in
it's not that big a deal, but when I see it I cringe

but time zones in the US are not quite that easy
'cause in the summer EST is one hour behind
the timezone on the east coast which is EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME

And every time we switch our clocks for daylight savings
we technically switch time zones; I know it's confusing
and yes it's pretty stupid, but that's the way it is
so always double check your timezone acronyms

Cause I'm tired of you all making this silly mistake
It causes me so much scheduling headache
if you want to be always right, you just gotta say
Eastern Time, Eastern Time. Don't add a standard

And I know I'm making a fuss over this small thing
And that why my friends are always telling me
